Hyundai Elantra hybrid a great choice before going into a fully electric sedan

2024 Hyundai Elantra HEV

Written by Marco Carvajal

The attractive and modern Hyundai Elantra HEV is a great hybrid powertrain choice instead of going into a fully electric sedan. Powered with a 139 horsepower combined hybrid system, a convenient 11 gallons fuel tank capacity, excellent fuel economy at 50 MPG combined average, and a dream range of up to 539 miles in the city, and 572 miles on the highway with just one fuel tank, for the Elantra Hybrid Limited that I am test driving.

The Hyundai Elantra hybrid is a very popular compact sedan, it has a very attractive trendy design, and it is very affordable starting at $26K, a low price compared to the recent car price increase.

For 2025, the Elantra base price goes down to $25K which is a nice $1,000 savings bonus compared to the 2024 car year model.

Elantra Hybrid Beautiful with Value Pricing

There are only two trims available for the 2024 Elantra Hybrid: the base model Blue Elantra Hybrid trim, which starts at $26,250 MSRP, and the top-of-the-line Elantra hybrid Limited, which starts at $29,450 MSRP.

My favorite trim model is the Elantra Hybrid Limited, this is a premium hybrid car that gives you a lot of high-end features and still keeps the MSRP price under $30K.

From a budget-conscious point of view, buying the Elantra Hybrid Blue is a great purchase that saves you $3K compared to the Limited, keeping your budget close to $26K.

Of the two hybrid versions, the Blue model produces better mileage per gallon, but the Limited model, the premium version, has top-level features like a boss premium audio system and more, making it more attractive and trendy.

Whatever Elantra model you choose, this is a great modern and trendy hybrid sedan full of style and sporty features.

The new Elantra has a distinctive design with advanced aerodynamics, a beautiful silhouette, and generous standard features typical of the Hyundai brand.

It seems that the Elantra has been designed with one goal in mind: to give every possible feature included standard free to Elantra buyers, and the plan is to sell and sell thousands of Elantra cars in the U.S.

If you compare the value and amount of standard features of the Elantra with other similar sedans it will be very difficult to find a model that will give you more than the Elantra. This is one of the reasons why I love the Elantra is because Hyundais gives you so much for your money. Elantra preserves the value and pricing policy of Hyundai, giving you more features for less money.

Some higher-priced models in the Hyundai family don’t give you as much value and as many standard features as the Elantra.

Is easy to fall in love with the Elantra, especially if you want to have tons of features but pay a low price for a brand-new car.

Modern tech helps you unlock the doors of your Hyundai Elantra without having to take your key fob out of your pocket, just come near your Elantra and the doors will be unlocked automatically, then push the start button and go! Enjoy a Bluetooth hands-free phone system inside your Elantra and wireless device charging.

The available high-resolution 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation is the largest screen in its class, with an available 10.25-inch, fully digital instrument cluster. Together, a single, integrated panel shows your car’s driving information and entertainment, great technology at a low cost.

Looks Matter, and the Elantra Has a Great Sportier Look

The Elantra front fascia looks very modern and powerful.  The aggressive look gets better with a black mesh grille and large air intake making the exterior design of the Elantra look sporty and trendy.

If you like to drive a fast and precise car, the Elantra Hybrid is ready for speed and agility, it has amazing performance for a machine that will cost you only $26K MSRP.

The exterior design of the Elantra hybrid sedan has a modern and imposing appearance that looks sporty and strong, from its lower and wider profile to its defined and angular body lines, this hybrid is very appealing.

The interior also looks very good with the 10.25-inch instrument panel and the infotainment system, which provides more information on the flow and consumption of energy to improve driving technique. The central screen is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a wireless charger for devices, electric equipment for windows and mirrors, dual-zone air conditioning, and a driving mode selector.

Technological modern features like SiriusXM, HD Radio, Dual front USB charging ports (One, USB-C), and 2nd-row USB-C charging ports are standard on both Elantra hybrid Blue and Limited trim models.

From the big details to the small details, I like the High Beam Assist (HBA) feature which is great when driving on dark roads where the Elantra automatically switches from high to low beam lights when another vehicle is detected in the opposite lane.

Boss Great-Quality Audio

The Bose premium audio provides 360 degrees of balanced sound around your car.  Bose has a large history of amazing audio quality and it is a great gift you can give to yourself when buying the Elantra hybrid limited that includes this premium feature.

For those who love concert-quality sound inside your car, the Bose audio will make you very happy.

Bose premium audio with eight speakers, including center channel and subwoofer, is standard and only available on the Elantra Hybrid Limited trim that I am driving, not on the Blue Trim model.

Hyundai SmartSense system safety technology includes an advanced group of sensors. It protects passengers with safety features such as lane keeping, autonomous emergency braking, 6 airbags, anti-lock ABS brakes, and a reversing camera.

One of the performance-oriented features is the cool aluminum pedals for a sporty feel.

Driving the Elantra feels great with the multi-link independent rear suspension with superior agility and control.

Instead of the most common continuously variable transmission (CVT), Hyundai has installed a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which is very responsive and helps you with more precise acceleration.

Another nice feature of the new Elantra hybrid is the multi-link rear suspension, which replaces the torsion bar setup of some combustion-only Elantra versions. This allows for finer tuning of the suspension to balance control.

Besides a lot of good features, the highlight of the Elantra Hybrid is its great fuel economy and long range on a single fuel tank. The Hyundai Elantra HEV Limited is an efficient and attractive hybrid sedan that most drivers would enjoy.

If your budget allows it, upgrading from the compact Elantra to the brother Hyundai midsize Sonata hybrid Sedan will give you even more power, features, and larger size, but both are good sedans that most drivers will enjoy.
